About Heater Doctor
Water heater help, written plainly, for homes in cold-winter towns.
Why Heater Doctor exists
When the hot water quits, most people don't know who to call or what the problem even is. Search results are full of national directories and ads. Heater Doctor is built to do one thing: help you understand what's wrong with your water heater and get a plumber out to fix it.
Every page on this site is written about water heaters only. You'll find the common causes of each symptom, what's safe to check yourself, what repairs usually cost and when replacing makes more sense than repairing.
How we write our guides
Cost ranges come from published national cost guides such as Angi, and we name the source. Safety steps follow manufacturer guidance: shut off the water and heat source, and never relight a pilot if you smell gas. Local pages cover the things that actually differ from town to town: water hardness, winter temperatures and housing age.
What we don't do
We don't sell parts, push a brand or invent reviews. The plumber who comes out sets the price for your job, and you're never obligated to go ahead.
